Anthony Martial is statistically more prolific than Ronaldo was

Anthony Martial has proved himself to be a vital player for Manchester United. Recent statistics show that the Frenchman is on the right path and is even better than United legend Cristiano Ronaldo himself. Martial has taken 12 fewer games than Ronaldo to reach the 50-goals involvement mark in the Premier League for Manchester United. Here're further details.

What does statistics have to say regarding Martial's performance?

Statistically, Martial has been more influential than Ronaldo when it comes to involvement in 50 Premier League goals. Ronaldo took 118 matches to reach the feat while Martial has taken 106. While doing so, Martial has netted 33 strikes to CR7's 32. Ronaldo, on the other hand, had provided 18 assists to Martial's 17.

Martial's goal against Fulham was almost similar to Ronaldo's

During United's last Premier League match against Fulham, Martial scored an incredible solo goal going past Fulham players like a breeze. Quickly, United fans pointed out how similar the goal was to the one Ronaldo scored against the same side 12 years back in 2007. The similarity was not lost on Gary Neville as well while he was commentating on the match.

Solskjaer is ecstatic about his star forward's talents

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also ecstatic about the way Martial is presently performing. Even Solskjaer recalled Ronaldo's goal and said Martial has the potential to be as good as CR7 but has a lot of work to do to reach that level. Martial has recently signed a new contract with United and Solskjaer says he is thrilled to have him.

Martial needs a lot of work to reach Ronaldo's level

It is true that statistically Martial sounds better than Ronaldo, but he has a long way to go for his name to be taken in the same breath with the Portuguese legend. Ronaldo has kept up his form all these years, has proved to be more lethal as the years went, and morphed his game and became one of the best players ever.
