Indian cricket is set to witness a rare occurrence with the Asian Games in Japan and an ODI series at home. The T20I and ODI teams will be playing in two different parts of the world almost simultaneously. The first ODI against West Indies will be played on September 27, while India's first T20I at the Asian Games will take place on September 28. With several ODI stars featuring in the Asian Games, the selectors will have to hand a recall to several discarded players. On this note, we look at three batters who can make comeback during the West Indies ODI series.

Jaiswal set to get a go
While Yashasvi Jaiswal has become a vital part of India's Test line-up, his spot in the white-ball teams has been sporadic.
He was left out of India's last 50-over assignment, which was against England in June.
However, the southpaw has made a mark in the limited opportunities, scoring two tons in his first six ODIs.
With several regular stars missing out, Jaiswal must get a go against West Indies.

Gaikwad has ruled the 50-over format
Going by stats, Ruturaj Gaikwad is one of the best batters in List A cricket.
His 5,334 runs in the format have come at an average of 58.61 and a strike rate of 101.23.
The home series against South Africa last year marked Gaikwad's maiden ODI hundred.
As Shreyas Iyer would be leading India at the Asian Games, Gaikwad is the front-runner to take the number-four spot in the ODI XI.

Pant has experience in ODIs
While Rishabh Pant is arguably the best wicketkeeper-batter in Test cricket at present, his ODI numbers are just about decent.
The left-hander, who featured in the 2019 World Cup, boasts 871 runs across 31 ODIs at 33.50 (SR: 106.21).
With the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup being around 12 months away, the selectors may look to groom Pant as the back-up keeper to KL Rahul.
