Tottenham Hotspur ask huge sum of money for Harry KaneLast updated on Jan 12, 2019, 07:37 pm
Harry Kane is one of the most sought-after footballers in the world right now, and AS reports that when Real Madrid asked Tottenham Hotspur for his transfer, the North London club asked for a whopping £312 million.
After selling Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus, Real Madrid are going through a poor season, and need a proper striker to keep scoring consistently.
Real are going through a dearth of goals this season
Los Blancos have managed to net only 26 goals this term, which shows their poor form up front after Ronaldo's transfer.
Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema could hardly have managed to replicate CR7's form, and Florentino Perez should have looked to sign a major player before the 2018-19 season started.
The huge asking amount from Tottenham will naturally be impossible for Madrid to meet.
Spurs huge asking fee was just to deter Madrid
Surely, the huge transfer fee asked by Tottenham was not to make a concrete proposal, but to deter the Madrid giants from pursuing their talismanic striker.
Spurs have built a strong team with players like Kane, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, and others, and will not want to break the core structure of their squad by parting ways with their talismanic striker.
Who can be the other potential targets for Real Madrid?
With Spurs having asked for an impossible sum, Real Madrid will be looking for another striker.
Their potential targets could be Robert Lewandowski or Edinson Cavani, but neither will be a good investment considering their age.
The fiasco which Real have found themselves in, does not seem likely to be resolved soon.
Even Eden Hazard has not made his intentions of switching ships clear yet.
Can Kane force his way to Santiago Bernabeu in future?
Though the move will likely not materialize this season, Harry Kane might just force his way out of Spurs and sign for Real Madrid in future.
Scoring in the El Clasico, lifting the Champions League, and playing with the most successful club in European history will be an offer hard to resist by any talented footballer.
Only time will tell how this unfolds.
