Prithvi Shaw involved in a heated exchange with Siraj
The Mumbai versus Hyderabad clash in the semi-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy wasn't short of entertainment besides the action on-field. Firstly, Rohit Sharma was involved in a controversy after claiming a catch in the slip cordon off batsman Bavanaka Sandeep. And, India's teenage sensation Prithvi Shaw then got into a heated verbal exchange with pacer Mohammad Siraj.
Siraj and Shaw were seen exchanging words in a video posted on Twitter. The incident happened during the ninth over of the second innings. Siraj was bowling his heart out and tested Shaw on numerous occasions. The former was seen going up to Shaw and saying a few things. Fans will hope it wasn't anything serious.
Mumbai beat Hyderabad in the semi-final by a 60-run margin that was decided by the VJD method. Hyderabad set a 247-run target for Mumbai. Rohit Rayudu scored a century to get the side to a decent position. In response, Mumbai got off to a flier with openers Shaw and Rohit ensuring a quick flow of runs. Mumbai reached the final in this rain-impacted encounter.
The second semi-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy is being held today between Delhi and Jharkhand. The winner will face Mumbai in the final to be held on October 20.
