Sewage pipe bursts in China; pedestrians, vehicles showered with poop
A newly installed sewage pipeline in Nanning, southern China, burst during a pressure test at a road construction site on Wednesday. The incident was captured on video and shows a fountain of human waste shooting 10 meters (33 feet) into the air before raining down on unsuspecting commuters. The force of the explosion was so intense that it flipped over one digger at the construction site and damaged nearby vehicles.
'Poo-cano' incident leaves vehicles, commuters drenched in waste
"I'm drenched in poo, my car is splattered yellow. It's ruined," one driver claimed. Dashcam footage shows the orange-brown geyser of poo billowing out of the pipe before landing on car windshields and unsuspecting bikers. Authorities said the blast probably happened when construction workers were trying to do a pressure test on the new pipes. The "poo-cano" aftermath was swiftly taken care of, and local authorities are now looking into ways to prevent any future sewage explosions.
