    2018 TIME 100: Now, you can cast your vote

    For years now, TIME magazine has dedicated one of its annual issues to celebrate the most influential personalities from across the globe. Featuring in the TIME 100 is a testimony of power and influence for the global leaders. While it is the editors who take the final call every year, but the magazine lets its readers vote for their favorite personalities. Here's how you can cast your vote.

    Putin, Modi, Trump and Erdogan among contenders

    Readers have a multitude of political leaders to choose from. The leaders who had an influence in shaping the contemporary world have been shortlisted. Russia's newly re-elected President Vladimir Putin, POTUS Donald Trump, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, are some of the leaders competing with each other. Notably, voting began on March 28 and will end on April 17.

    Looking back at Narendra Modi: The star on TIME

    Interestingly, PM Modi has always been a star on TIME magazine. In 2016, he had won the TIME online poll for 'Person of the Year'. He had won with 18% vote, defeating Obama, Trump and Julian Assange. Further, in 2015, Obama had written a profile of Modi for the magazine. He had written, "His (Modi) life story- from poverty to PM- reflects the dynamism and potential of India's rise."

    Meghan Markle is also one of the contenders

    Apart from politicians, other contenders include actor and lawyer Meghan Markle, who is soon going to marry Prince Harry; Elon Musk, Pakistani-American actor Kumail Nanjiani, and student activists fighting for stricter gun control laws in the United States.
