#TryThisAshCookie: Teenage girl bakes grandfather's ashes into cookies, feeds classmates
  • Cookies, the all-time favorite pre-snack, have been the delicacy you just can't get enough of.

And, the variety is endless- chocolate chip, coconut-filled, lemon cheesecake, and so on.

But have you ever eaten cookies made of human ashes? A teenage girl in California baked her grandfather's ashes into cookies and shared them with her classmates.

    Appetite ruined? Ours too.

  • What's surprising or rather gross, is that the 16-year-old girl knowingly baked her grandfather's ashes into sugar cookies. Not sure what her intentions were.

She shared the cookies with her classmates at Da Vinci Charter Academy in Davis on October 4. Some of them were cognizant of the cookies' ingredients and still ate them.

Those who were unaware, were of course, horrified.

  • Describing the cookies' taste, a classmate said, "If you ever ate sand as a kid, you know, you can kind of feel it crunching in between your teeth. So, there was a little tiny bit of that," Not so 'sugary' after all!

  • Police's take

  • Fortunately, no student's health was in jeopardy.

Meanwhile, the incident reached the police and they were scratching their heads over what charges to put on the students.

The police have opened a case, and have been considering a charge for disposal of human remains in an improper manner.

However, they may apply public-nuisance charges instead.

    Um, how about cannibalism?

  • Edible ashes?

  • While these ash cookies have grossly disturbed many, brace yourselves for another story.

TLC once featured a US woman who was obsessed with eating her dead husband's ashes.

While she was utterly sad over his demise, we're not sure if eating his ashes was the right coping mechanism.

Be careful when someone offers you a cookie next time, you may be charged with cannibalism.
