    What's the story

German automaker Volkswagen has launched the 2019 Vento facelift in India at a starting price of Rs. 8.76 lakh.

The new variant comes with minor design tweaks, along with Volkswagen Connect feature. However, it retains the mechanical specifications of the outgoing model.

Alongside, the company has also introduced a new dual-tone GT Line variant of the sedan.

    Here's our roundup.

    Exteriors

Volkswagen Vento facelift: At a glance

The Vento facelift offers a sporty look featuring a new grille with honeycomb pattern, trapezoidal air-intake, refreshed bumpers as well as side skirts, and chrome garnishing on the doors and tailgate.

The GT Line variant, on the other hand, sports a dual-tone paint scheme with blackened roof, ORVMs, and spoilers.

Furthermore, the sedan gets LED headlamps with DRLs and LED taillamps for lighting.

    Interiors

    Inside the cabin

Inside, the 2019 Vento has a five-seater cabin with rear AC vents and a multifunctional power steering wheel with cruise control.

Talking about electronic features, the sedan houses a touchscreen infotainment panel and automatic rain sensing wipers.

Further, it also gets Volkswagen Connect feature which lets you connect your smartphone with the car via Bluetooth.

    Engine

    Power and performance

The Vento facelift is offered in 1.6-liter petrol, 1.2-liter petrol, and 1.5-liter diesel engine options.

The 1.6-liter petrol unit, mated to a manual gearbox, produces 105PS of power, while the 1.2-liter petrol mill, coupled with an automatic transmission system also produces 105PS power.

There is also a 1.5-liter diesel engine which produces 110PS power and gets both manual as well as automatic transmission options.

    Safety

Volkswagen Vento facelift: On the road

For braking performance, the 2019 Vento comes equipped with disc brakes on the front, drum brakes on the rear, along with ABS and EBD for better road handling.

Notably, the car offers dual front airbags (four airbags on top models), a rearview camera and rear parking sensors for parking assistance.
