German automaker Mercedes-Benz is expected to unveil the 2022 version of its GLC SUV soon. It will also arrive in India. In the latest development, a camouflaged test mule of the car has been found testing, revealing key design details. The images indicate that it will have a mono-slat grille, LED headlights, new alloy wheels, and a revised tailgate, among other highlights.
- The 2022 iteration of the Mercedes-Benz GLC will have better looks and more features when compared to the outgoing model. A lot of buyers in the global markets should be interested in getting their hands on this four-wheeler.
- On our shores, the car should be priced competitively and will take on rivals such as the BMW X3 and Volvo XC60.
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC will have a sculpted bonnet, a single-slat grille with a honeycomb mesh behind it, a wide air dam, and narrow LED headlights. On the sides, it will be flanked by roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, flared wheel arches, and aerodynamically designed alloy wheels. A revised tailgate, LED taillamps, and a hidden exhaust will grace the rear end.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLC might run on a 2.0-liter petrol engine that makes 197hp/320Nm and a 2.0-liter diesel mill that generates 194hp/400Nm. Transmission duties should be taken care of by a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC is likely to have a luxurious 5-seater cabin, featuring auto climate control, rear AC vents, key-less entry, and a multifunctional steering wheel with cruise control. It will house a large tablet-like MBUX touchscreen infotainment system with support for the latest connectivity facilities. The passengers' safety will be ensured by multiple airbags, crash sensors, and a rear-view camera.
Mercedes-Benz will disclose the availability and pricing details of the 2022 GLC SUV in India at the time of its launch. However, it should carry a premium over the outgoing model, which starts at Rs. 61 lakh (ex-showroom).
