What's the story

Audi has unveiled its second model under the new AUDI brand at Auto Guangzhou 2025. The E SUV is a concept vehicle that will go into production next year. The new brand is part of Audi's strategy to compete with domestic Chinese automakers, which have been gaining ground with feature-rich, tech-heavy cars at competitive prices.

Model details

A closer look at Audi's latest offering

The E SUV is a larger model than the first production vehicle, the E5 Sportback. It measures 199-inch long and 80.4-inch wide, with a wheelbase of 120.4-inch. The SUV's design is different from international Audi models and features elements like side cameras, roof-mounted LiDAR, flush door handles, and C-shaped lighting.

Brand strategy

AUDI brand: A unique approach to luxury

The new AUDI brand will be exclusive to China, with all its models being fully electric. It is part of a joint venture with SAIC and uses the same Advanced Digitized Platform (ADP) that supports the E5 Sportback. The SUV features massive 23-inch wheels shod in 285/40 R23 Michelin Pilot Sport all-season tires for a "monolithic, composed, and distinctive" look.

Performance

A look at the powertrain

The E SUV packs a massive 109kWh battery that offers over 700km of range under China's lenient CLTC cycle. With a compatible fast charger, a 10-minute session adds enough energy for a range of up to 320km. The dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup lets the E SUV hit 100km/h in just five seconds.

Market

Pricing and availability

AUDI plans to launch the e-SUV in 2026. While the pricing details are yet to be revealed, it is expected to be pricier than the E5 Sportback. The base version of E5 Sportback starts at around $33,000 while the flagship model costs up to $45,000.
