BMW i7 (facelift) launched at ₹1.95cr
What's the story
BMW has officially launched the 2026 i7 (facelift) in India, starting at ₹1.95 crore (ex-showroom). The top-of-the-line M70 xDrive variant is priced at ₹2.65 crore. The latest iteration of BMW's flagship electric sedan comes with a host of upgrades, including exterior and interior design changes as well as powertrain enhancements.
Power upgrade
eDrive 50 variant offers range of up to 728km
The base variant, i7 eDrive 50, produces an impressive 455hp and 600Nm of torque. It can go from 0-100km/h in just 5.5 seconds and reach a top speed of up to 210km/h.
The car is powered by a large 112.5kWh battery pack that offers an impressive single-charge range of up to 728km (WLTP rated).
Performance boost
M70 xDrive variant delivers 680hp
The top-spec i7 M70 xDrive variant delivers a whopping 680hp and up to 1,015Nm of torque in Sport mode.
This allows it to go from rest to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds with a top speed of up to 250km/h.
Despite the performance boost, this model still offers an impressive range of up to 686km (WLTP rated).
Charging convenience
Charging speed and complimentary wallbox charger offered
With a 250kW DC fast charger, the i7 can be charged from 10-80% in just 28 minutes. A quick 10-minute top-up can add a range of up to 235km, BMW claims.
The company also provides a complimentary wallbox charger with installation for both trims, which can be installed at home for charging speeds of up to 22kW.
Exterior updates
What about the design changes?
The updated i7 sedan retains the overall silhouette of its predecessor but gets subtle styling changes.
These include a reworked kidney grille with illuminated surrounds, redesigned LED headlamps, and a new front bumper.
BMW has also introduced a new alloy wheel design while retaining flush-fitting door handles for an elegant look.
At the rear end, it gets smoked lenses on tail-lamps along with a redesigned tailgate and bumper.
Cabin enhancements
New projection technology and massive touchscreen display
The biggest changes in the facelifted i7 are inside the cabin.
The car now features BMW's Panoramic Vision full-width projection at the base of the windscreen, instead of a traditional driver's display.
The central touchscreen is a massive 17.9-inch unit that runs on BMW Operating System X, supports over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and improved voice controls.
Luxury additions
It also gets a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system
The facelifted i7 also gets a new passenger screen measuring 14.6-inch, a redesigned dashboard, and a new four-spoke steering wheel.
It retains the massive 31.3-inch 8K Theatre Screen at the rear for entertainment purposes.
The audio experience is taken care of by a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system with Dolby Atmos technology, ensuring an immersive ride for all passengers.
