What's the story

KTM-owned Husqvarna has commenced the deliveries of the Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 models in India. Both the quarter-liter motorcycles are priced at Rs. 1.80 lakh and can be booked at KTM dealerships for a token amount of Rs. 5,000. Notably, the Husqvarna siblings are positioned between the recently-launched Dominar 250 and KTM 250 Duke. Here are more details.

Design

Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250: At a glance

Both the Husqvarna siblings come with the naked design and share the same underpinnings but differ from each other in terms of styling. The Svartpilen 250 comes with a street scrambler look, while the Vitpilen 250 features an attractive cafe racer design. Apart from that, both quarter-liter motorcycles house a fully-digital instrument console and get all-LED fitments for lighting.

Power and performance

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 motorcycles share their mechanical specifications with KTM 250 Duke. They are powered by a BS6-compliant 248.76cc liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine that comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a slipper clutch. The unit is capable of producing 30PS of maximum power and 24Nm of peak torque.

Safety

Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250: On the road

On the safety front, the quarter-liter Husqvarna siblings come equipped with the disc brakes on both the front and rear ends, along with dual-channel ABS for improved road handling. To manage suspension duties, both the motorcycles house 43mm WP upside-down forks on the front and a mono-shock unit on the rear.

What is the pricing?

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 are currently available at an introductory price of Rs. 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the company is likely to increase the prices in the coming months. Lastly, these models compete against Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Yamaha FZ25.
