You can now rent e-bikes at Kozhikode railway station

Southern Railway has launched Kerala's first electric bike (e-bike) rental service at the Kozhikode Railway Station. The initiative is aimed at providing eco-friendly last-mile connectivity for the passengers. The service comes with all the necessary approvals and permissions, marking a major milestone in promoting sustainable transportation options in the state.

E-bike rental rates and requirements
The e-bikes can be rented at a nominal rate of ₹50 per hour. For longer durations, a flat fee of ₹500 is charged for 12 hours and ₹750 for 24 hours. To avail this service, passengers have to present their original Aadhaar card, a two-year-old driving license, and pay a refundable security deposit of ₹1,000.

Extensive range and insurance coverage
The e-bikes come with chargers for full-day rentals and can cover up to 130km on a single charge. Each rental includes one helmet, with additional helmets available at ₹50 each. All scooters are fully insured, covering expenses in case of an accident. During the claim process, a daily rental fee will be charged for the duration of the vehicle's unavailability.
