Lamborghini launches Urus SE plug-in hybrid SUV at ₹4.6 crore
Italian luxury car manufacturer Lamborghini, has introduced its second plug-in hybrid model, the Urus SE, in India. The new SUV is priced at ₹4.57 crore (ex-showroom), and replaces the Performante and S variants in the Urus lineup here. The Urus SE is powered by an 800hp, 4.0-liter V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, with a claimed electric-only range of up to 60km.
A look at the performance
The Urus SE's powertrain features a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers 620hp of power and 800Nm of torque on its own. This engine has been re-engineered to work with a plug-in hybrid system that uses a 25.9kWh Lithium-ion battery pack. The electric motor is housed within the eight-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, similar to the Revuelto model, resulting in a total system output of up to 800hp/950Nm.
Urus SE's electric mode and drive options
Urus SE can operate in EV mode at speeds of up to 130km/h, before the combustion engine automatically takes over. Even in electric mode, the vehicle maintains four-wheel-drive capability. Lamborghini claims that this SUV can sprint from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds, and reach a top speed of 312km/h. The model offers 10 drive modes including Strada, Sport, Corsa (for road and track use), Neve, Sabbia, Terra (for off-road use), and four additional modes - EV Drive, Hybrid, Recharge and Performance.
A look at the design and features
The Urus SE showcases a hood that extends right to the edge of the nose, new headlamps with LED matrix technology, and a revamped bumper and grille assembly. The rear of the vehicle features a new tailgate with contrasting trim joining the Y-shaped LED taillights, a fresh spoiler, and an enlarged diffuser. The rims are available in 21-, 22- or 23-inch sizes and come wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires.
Interior upgrades and customization
The interior of the Urus SE features new dashboard panels, slightly revised AC vents, and new seats. The central touchscreen has been upgraded to a 12.3-inch display, that runs the latest software and user interface seen on the Revuelto. Lamborghini offers over 100 exterior color choices and 47 interior finishes through its Ad Personam program, allowing buyers to personalize their vehicle according to their preferences.
