Italian automaker Ducati has announced via a teaser that it will launch its Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary bike in India on March 16. As for the highlights, the limited-run vehicle has a head-turning look and a bevy of electronic riding aids. It draws power from a 955cc, L-Twin engine that puts out a maximum power of 152hp.

    Why does this story matter?

    • The Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary edition pays tribute to legendary racer Troy Bayliss and will be up for grabs in limited numbers.
    • The two-wheeler is expected to attract buyers who are willing to spend a pretty penny for exclusivity. It should raise the competition in the luxury bike segment to a great extent.

The bike has triple-tone livery and rider-only seat

Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary is built on an aluminium frame and has a muscular fuel tank with Bayliss's race number "21" and autograph embossed on it. It also flaunts a triple-tone red, green and white livery. The motorcycle has a rider-only saddle, under-belly exhaust, a raised windscreen, and designer wheels. It weighs 3kg less than the standard Panigale V2.

It is fueled by a 152hp, 955cc engine

The Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary is powered by a 955cc, L-Twin engine paired to a bi-directional quick-shifter. The mill puts out a maximum power of 152hp and a peak torque of 104Nm.

    Three riding modes are offered

To ensure the safety of the rider, the Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary is equipped with disc brakes, cornering ABS, wheelie control, traction control, and three riding modes (Race, Sport, and Street). Suspension duties on the motorbike are taken care of by Ohlins NX30 forks on the front side and a TTX36 shock absorber on the rear end.

    How much will it cost?

The pricing and availability details of the Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss Edition in India will be disclosed at the time of its launch. However, it should carry a significant premium over the standard Panigale V2 priced at Rs. 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
