What's the story

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the latest iterations of its AMG GLE 63 S Coupe and GLS 63, two high-performance SUVs that pack a punch with their powerful V8 engines. The 2027 models come with an updated twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 mill that produces a staggering 603hp and 850Nm of torque. The engine has been re-engineered for improved responsiveness, thanks to a flat-plane crankshaft that reduces rotating mass and allows it to rev more freely.

Hybrid boost

The SUVs get an updated 48V mild-hybrid system

The new AMG GLE 63 S Coupe and GLS 63 also come with a revised 48V mild-hybrid system. This updated Integrated Starter Generator (ISG 2.0) can add up to 23hp and 205Nm of torque, giving a boost to low-end torque and making low-speed travel smoother. The electrified V8 engine in these SUVs makes them feel more responsive off the line, without compromising on their signature AMG performance.

Performance

AMG GLE Coupe can sprint to 97km/h in 3.6 seconds

The new AMG GLE 63 S Coupe can go from 0-97km per hour in just 3.6 seconds, while the larger GLS 63 takes a bit longer at 3.9 seconds. Both models have an electronically limited top speed of 280km/h. They also get AMG Ride Control+ air suspension as standard, which works with active roll stabilization via AMG Active Ride Control for real-time body roll countering on the road.

This includes everything from vibrant paint finishes to high-end leather combinations like Yacht Blue and Tartufo Brown.
