Mercedes-Maybach S-Class launched in India at Rs. 2.5 crore

German auto giant Mercedes-Benz has launched the new Maybach S-Class in India. The flagship sedan is offered in S 580 and S 680 variants and carries a starting price-tag of Rs. 2.5 crore (ex-showroom). The S 580 variant will be locally manufactured in Chakan, Maharashtra, while the more premium S 680 trim will be available as a completely built unit.
- The Maybach S-Class is a more premium and stretched-out version of the luxurious S-Class sedan. The new-generation model was introduced in the global markets in November 2020 and has now arrived in India.
- It is the second product under the Maybach brand in India, joining the Maybach GLS 600 SUV that was launched here for Rs. 2.43 crore.
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has a large chromed grille with vertical slats, sleek LED headlights, and chrome-finished air vents. In comparison to the standard S-Class, it has a nearly 180mm longer wheelbase. The sedan gets a chrome finish on the B-pillars, "Maybach" logos on the C-pillars, automatic flush-fitted handles, and rides on 21-inch alloy wheels. Wrap-around LED taillights and chrome-coated exhaust tips grace the rear.
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class S 580 runs on a 4.0-liter V8 engine that makes 503hp/700Nm while the S 680 variant packs a 6.0-liter V12 mill that generates 612hp/900Nm. Both come with a 9-speed automatic gearbox, an all-wheel-drive system, and some Level 2 autonomous driving features.
The Maybach S-Class comes with so many features that it is impossible to list all of them here. It has high-quality leather upholstery, ambient lighting, heated and ventilated seats with massage and memory function, an air ionizing system, a panoramic sunroof, and 13 airbags. You also get temperature-controlled cup holders, a refrigerator, a 30-speaker Burmester sound system, and multiple displays for information and entertainment.
In India, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class starts at Rs. 2.5 crore for the S 580 trim while the more powerful S 680 model carries a price-tag of Rs. 3.2 crore (both prices, ex-showroom). Deliveries are expected to commence in the coming weeks.
