2022 Ford Everest SUV to break cover on March 1
US automaker Ford has announced that it will unveil the new-generation version of its Everest SUV on March 1. It is unclear whether it will be available in India. As for the highlights, the car will sport a Ranger-inspired look and should have a luxurious cabin. It should be available with a choice of three petrol as well as diesel engines.
Why does this story matter?
The upcoming Everest SUV will serve as a successor to the Ford Endeavour that was sold in India and shall share its underpinnings with the Ranger pick-up truck. It should rack up decent sales in the overseas markets thanks to its good looks and features. However, the four-wheeler's debut on our shores seems uncertain as the brand has shut down manufacturing operations here.
The car will have C-shaped DRLs and side-steppers
The 2022 Ford Everest will have a sculpted bonnet, a chrome-finished grille, sleek headlamps with C-shaped LED DRLs, and a wide air dam. It will be flanked by roof rails, ORVMs, side-steppers, and designer wheels. A roof-mounted antenna, a window wiper, and inverted L-shaped taillights connected by a trim piece will grace the rear end. It will also get a 50mm longer wheelbase.
Three engine options might be offered
The engine options offered by the upcoming Ford Everest should include a 2.0-liter diesel engine, a 3.0-liter V6 diesel motor, and a 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder petrol mill. The powertrains are tipped to be linked to an all-wheel-drive system.
The SUV will get three rows of seats
The new Ford Everest is expected to have a spacious three-row cabin, featuring keyless entry, parking sensors, auto climate control, USB chargers, and a multifunctional steering wheel. It is likely to house a touchscreen infotainment console with support for the latest connectivity facilities. The safety of the passengers should be ensured by a rear-view camera, multiple airbags, EBD, and ABS.
Ford Everest: Availability
Details pertaining to the availability and pricing of the new Ford Everest will be disclosed at the time of its unveiling. However, the company is yet to announce whether the SUV will be up for grabs in India.
