SKODA's rival to Nexon, Venue, Brezza debuts on November 6
SKODA is set to unveil its latest sub-four-meter SUV, the KYLAQ, in India on November 6. The new model will be launched early next year and is expected to compete with established models like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue. The KYLAQ will be SKODA's first venture into the sub-4 meter SUV category in India.
KYLAQ's engine and transmission details
The SKODA KYLAQ is expected to be powered by a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder, TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 114hp of power and 178Nm of torque. The vehicle will offer transmission options including a six-speed manual and torque converter automatic units. It will be built on a shortened version of the MQB-A0 IN platform that currently underpins the KUSHAQ and SLAVIA. The prices for KYLAQ are expected start from around ₹8.5 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a competitive option in India.
A look at the design and features
The KYLAQ will feature sleek LED DRLs, a new grille, split headlamp setup, roof rails, shark-fin antenna, wraparound LED taillights, and fresh bumpers at both ends. Inside the cabin, it is expected to come equipped with an electric sunroof and a large touchscreen infotainment system. Other anticipated features include wireless mobile connectivity, virtual cockpit display for driving data and navigation assistance as well as leatherette seats for added comfort.
KYLAQ's advanced infotainment and safety features
The SKODA KYLAQ is likely to include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The feature-list will likely include an 8.0-inch digital driver's display, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, single-pane sunroof, cruise control and keyless entry with push button start. For safety, the car may be equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
