Tata Safari Dark Edition launched at Rs. 19.05 lakh

Tata Motors has launched the Dark Edition variant of its Safari SUV in India. It is based on the XT+ and XZ+ trim levels. The four-wheeler sports cosmetic changes both inside and out, while its features are the same as the standard model. Under the hood, it is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine that makes 170hp of power.
- The Dark Edition is the newest addition to the Safari line-up in India and makes it the fifth Tata car to receive the special model. It is expected to attract quite a few buyers on our shores.
- The four-wheeler has been priced competitively and takes on rivals such as the Hyundai ALCAZAR, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector Plus.
Tata Safari Dark Edition offers gloss black accents on the grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, as well as headlight and window surrounds. The SUV gets chrome-finished "Tata" and "Dark Edition" badges along with an Oberon Black paint. It also has ORVMs, roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, projector headlights with LED DRLs, wrap-around LED taillamps, and a window wiper. Its dimensions remain unchanged.
Tata Safari Dark Edition draws power from a BS6-compliant 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 170hp and a peak torque of 350Nm. The motor is paired to a 6-speed manual or torque converter automatic gearbox.
The Tata Safari Dark Edition has a blacked-out cabin, featuring a Blackstone Matrix insert on the dashboard, ventilated first and second-row seats, JBL audio system, wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, and an air purifier. It packs a 7.0-inch semi-digital instrument cluster and an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with support for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and iRA connected car technology. Multiple airbags ensure the passengers' safety.
In India, the Tata Safari Dark Edition starts at Rs. 19.05 lakh for the base XT+ model and goes up to Rs. 22.51 lakh for the range-topping XZA+ variant (all prices, ex-showroom).
