Tesla achieves 1st autonomous Model Y delivery
Tesla just pulled off its first-ever fully driverless delivery—a Model Y drove itself all the way from the Texas factory to a customer's home, handling everything from parking lots to highways with zero human help.
Elon Musk shared the news online, and fun fact: the car even showed up a day early.
TL;DR
Tesla's AI and Autopilot chief Ashok Elluswamy noted the car reached 116km/h on its smooth 30-minute trip.
This milestone fits into Tesla's push for more autonomous tech, including their new robotaxi service in Austin that lets people grab rides for $4.20—going head-to-head with Waymo.
The company's also seen some leadership changes recently as it keeps moving forward on self-driving innovation.
