Toyota's luxury SUV now features dimmable side windows
Toyota has introduced the 2026 Century SUV, and its standout feature is rear windows that can go from clear to opaque at the push of a button.
This three-stage dimming system lets backseat passengers choose their level of privacy and comfort—a notable feature for anyone who likes their space.
How the tech works
The tech uses AGC's Digital Curtain film, sandwiched between glass layers. Apply voltage, and particles line up to instantly change how much light gets through.
It also blocks up to 99% of UV rays, and each rear passenger can control their own window settings.
Toyota's Century SUV competes with Rolls-Royce Cullinan
With a price tag around 27 million yen ($182,500), the Century SUV blends old-school hand inspection with high-end tech.
Competing with luxury giants like Rolls-Royce Cullinan, it'll be made in limited numbers—plus there are special versions like sliding doors and sporty Gazoo Racing models for those who want something extra exclusive.
