Fake IT company cheats 50 employees; no salaries, security-deposit refund

At least 50 employees of a fake IT company in Bengaluru have been duped after the firm downed its shutters without paying five months' salaries and refunding security deposits it collected. An employee, Kiran, complained against Reyan Infotech at Bengaluru's Whitefield EPIP Phase-I. Police registered a cheating case against directors Naveen Vege and Rayashree Pareech, HR professional Bala Krishna, and manager Mahendra. Know more!

    Case registered with Mahadevapura Police

A case of cheating, criminal breach of trust, and criminal conspiracy was registered. Police said: "The accused hail from Andhra Pradesh and opened the firm only to con software engineers. We have clues about their whereabouts, and a team has rushed to the neighboring state."

Complainant Kiran joined Reyan in July 2016

Kiran, a MTech-holder, was looking for a job in 2016 when he met Vege and Pareech at Reyan's office. He was promised a job but was asked to pay Rs. 1.4L security-deposit for three months' training. Kiran was also promised Rs. 10,000 stipend during training and Rs. 20,000 salary later. Reyan employed 50 other IT engineers; it stopped paying the employees from May'17.

    Employees inquired about their salaries

The employees approached the manager to inquire about non-payment of salaries. He told the salaries were withheld owing to a financial crisis, and promised to pay them. However, Reyan shut down on 18 September; it neither returned their Rs.1.4L deposits neither paid their salaries.
