    MBA aspirants prefer Bengaluru over other cities, finds out survey

    MBA aspirants prefer Bengaluru over other cities, finds out survey

    Bengaluru is the most preferred city for those pursuing MBA in India, according to a survey. The next few spots are grabbed by Pune, Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi, said the survey that did a sampling of 5 lakh MBA aspirants. It also found out that more males apply for the degree courses than females, who mostly go for certified courses and PGDHRM.

    Finance most preferred MBA subject, HR and marketing come next

    The survey conducted by CollegeSearch, a website that provides information about educational institutions, found out that maximum number of MBA applicants are from Uttar Pradesh, followed by Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. The survey titled 'MBA Trends and Analysis, 2018', said that finance is most favored among all the MBA disciplines. HR and marketing come next, with digital marketing being the female's preferred choice.

    'Study conducted to provide answers to important questions aspirants have'

    "The study provides answers to questions like new-age programs versus traditional ones, role of demography in shaping opinion of an aspirant's institutional choice, and most importantly worthiness of the degree compared with the pay package," said Anirudh Motwani, Founder and CEO, CollegeSearch.

    Possible reasons for preference: Presence of MNCs, city's vibrant culture

    A 2017-article lists out the possible reasons why students prefer Bengaluru for MBA, over other cities. It says that Bengaluru houses many competent MBA institutes like IIM and most have futuristic campuses. The city also has vibrant cosmopolitan culture, which helps the MBA aspirants prepare themselves for the eventual corporate lives. Moreover, presence of MNC companies in Bengaluru is another major factor.
