AI adoption in Indian firms: 37% integrating into workforce planning

Business

A new survey by Deloitte India and Nasscom shows that while some Indian companies are making progress with AI, many are still stuck in early or unstructured stages.
Out of 150+ firms surveyed, about 37% are proactively integrating AI into their strategic workforce planning, while another 37% are either piloting, adopting ad hoc, or not integrating AI at all.

Companies are struggling to retain talent as AI changes jobs

The biggest hurdles: high costs, not enough skilled people in-house, and employees hesitant to reskill for new tech.
To keep talent on board as AI changes jobs, some companies are tweaking pay or rotating roles—but it's tough with so much change happening.

Skills gap is a big issue

India's AI sector is booming—growing up to 35% each year—but there aren't enough trained professionals to keep up.
The skills gap is only getting wider.

Need for upskilling and cultural shifts

If companies don't invest in upskilling and make real cultural shifts around tech adoption, they risk falling behind.
Those who focus on smart workforce transformation and embrace change will be better positioned as competition heats up.
