AI is reshaping job skills, says Siemens's Peter Koerte
Siemens CTO Dr. Peter Koerte says artificial intelligence is shaking up the job market, with new skills like data science and machine learning now in high demand.
We need more data scientists ... even those trained in traditional machine learning, he said in an interview with Moneycontrol on the sidelines of Siemens India Innovation Day in Mumbai.
AI tools are an opportunity for India's workforce
Koerte believes AI tools, like copilots, are making teams smaller but sharper, letting people focus on what really matters.
He called this shift "an opportunity" for India's workforce to step up and benefit.
Siemens already employs 38,000 people in India (10,000 of them software and AI pros), showing just how big tech talent is here.
India will soon be a major force worldwide in AI
With 87% of Indian companies already using enterprise AI, Koerte predicts India will soon be a major force worldwide: "a lot of applications coming from India for the world."
Siemens is teaming up with NVIDIA on an industrial AI platform and has rolled out over 700 digital projects across 25 partners, so there's a lot happening behind the scenes.
