Swiggy launches paid subscription program to compete with Zomato

On Tuesday, Swiggy, one of India's largest online food delivery platforms, announced the launch of its paid subscription program called Swiggy Super, initially to be rolled out to "limited users" in seven Indian cities. The move is aimed at competing with rival Zomato, which offers three differently-priced paid subscription programs to its users - Zomato Treats, Zomato Piggybank, and Zomato Gold. Here's more.

What Swiggy Super will offer to its users

As part of the Swiggy Super program, users will be entitled to free deliveries at all times of the day and from all serviceable restaurants in a given area. Additionally, Swiggy Super users will be able to order food without any surge pricing, and will also have a dedicated customer service team for priority issue resolution. Other benefits will be added soon, said Swiggy.

Pricing details and availability of Swiggy Super

The paid subscription program will initially be offered in 1-month and 3-month subscription plans. As far as pricing is concerned, the 1-month plan will be priced at Rs. 99-149, while pricing details of the 3-month plan have not been revealed yet. Customers will also require a minimum cart value of Rs. 99 to avail Swiggy Super benefits.
