Asahi hit by cyberattack, delays earnings reveal

Business

Asahi, the Japanese beer giant behind Super Dry, just got hit by a ransomware attack.
The cyber mess forced them to postpone their year-end financial results, and while CEO Atsushi Katsuki says beer shipments are starting to pick up again, their systems are still recovering.

Cyber threats on the rise

Asahi isn't alone—cyberattacks have been hitting big brands everywhere lately. Reports suggest Russian-linked group Qilin might be behind this one.
Jaguar Land Rover and Muji have also faced recent attacks that disrupted their operations.
A survey released in June found that about one in three Japanese companies has dealt with a cyberattack, showing how urgent better digital security has become for everyone.
