Axis Bank hikes card DCC 3.5% and ₹1,300 late fee

Axis Bank is updating its credit card terms from August 28, 2026.

If you use your card abroad, the Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) fee jumps from 1.5% to 3.5% (plus taxes).

Also, if you owe more than ₹50,000 and miss a payment, the late fee goes up to ₹1,300.

Partial payments go to fees 1st

Partial payments will now go toward fees first, then EMIs, interest charges, purchases, and finally cash advances.

Spending on tolls or road or bridge charges won't earn you reward points or cash back anymore.

Plus, buying gift cards is now its own category: no rewards there either, and it won't count for milestone spends or fee waivers.
