BBC chief, news head resign over Trump row

Business

BBC Director-General Tim Davie and News Chief Deborah Turness have both resigned following a storm over an edited Panorama episode.
The show was accused of making it appear as if US President Donald Trump encouraged the January 2021 Capitol riots, drawing harsh criticism from the White House, which called the BBC a "propaganda machine."
The network also faced heat for its coverage of the Israel-Hamas conflict and criticism over its handling of trans issues.

Davie will stay until new DG takes over

The BBC has been under fire lately for alleged bias—think Gary Lineker's immigration comments that paused sports coverage, and a Gaza documentary pulled before airing.
In the middle of all this, Davie decided to step down but will stay until someone new takes over.
Culture Minister Lisa Nandy thanked him, saying he led the BBC through some tough times and big changes.
