Bharat Taxi app coming to Delhi in 2025—no surge pricing, more driver-friendly
The government's Bharat Taxi app is set to launch in Delhi on January 1.
Already tested at the airport and in Gujarat, it'll let you book auto-rickshaws, cars, or bikes—without worrying about surge pricing during busy hours.
It's all run by a cooperative (not a private company), aiming for fair fares and better pay for drivers.
What makes Bharat Taxi different?
You get multilingual booking, live vehicle tracking, round-the-clock support, and even easy transfers with the Delhi Metro.
Drivers keep their full fare (no commission cuts), just paying a small membership fee to help run the cooperative.
As part of the cooperative structure, profits are shared among the drivers.
Why are drivers signing up?
Around 56,000 drivers have already registered on the platform ahead of its launch—a big deal since, as part of the cooperative model, profits are shared among them.
Compared to private apps that take up to 30% commission and use surge pricing, Bharat Taxi promises more stable fares for riders and better earnings for drivers.
Plus, they're working closely with Delhi Police on safety features.
