Bihar inks ₹13,000cr deal for big green energy push
Business
Bihar just signed major deals with Greenko Energies and Sun Petrochemicals to build two pumped storage projects in Nawada district—Ekamba (1,200 MW) and Gosaitari (920 MW).
Together, they'll cost about ₹13,000 crore and are part of the state's 2025 policy to boost renewable energy.
Why this matters: jobs, clean power, and a greener future
These projects will store monsoon water for electricity without messing with river flows.
Construction is set to create around 8,000 jobs over the next three to six years.
It's all in line with Bihar's goal to ramp up renewable energy and make the grid more reliable—a solid move toward a cleaner, brighter future for the state.
