    BMW F850GS bike launched in India at Rs. 15.4 lakh

    What's the story

    BMW's motorcycle division BMW Motorrad has launched BMW F850GS Adventure bike in India.

    To recall, the bike was unveiled last November at the EICMA Show.

    In India, it is available at Rs. 15.4 lakh (ex-showroom) and the bookings have already been started across all BMW Motorrad dealerships.

    Design

    BMW F850GS: At a glance

    The BMW F850GS features a new instrument panel with an analog tachometer, a multifunctional display, along with control lamps. The bike offers a 6.5 inch TFT screen for connectivity and navigational purposes.

    With a kerb weight of 244kg and fuel capacity of 15-liter, the bike runs on the cross spoke wheels.

    Moreover, it has a golden color coating on wheels and fork suspensions.

    Under the hood

    The BMW F850GS packs an 853cc liquid-cooled two-cylinder in-line engine which churns out 95PS of maximum power at 8,250rpm and a peak torque of 92Nm at 6,250rpm. Further, the motor comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and offers a top speed of 197kmph.

    BMW F850GS: On the road

    The BMW F850GS comes with bridge-type steel frame chassis, 43mm telescopic fork suspension up front and rebound-stage damping adjustable suspension on the rear side.

    For braking performance, the bike houses disc brakes on both wheels along with dual-channel ABS as well as traction control for better grip on the road.

    Moreover, it offers two riding modes- Rain and Road.

    The BMW F850GS has been priced at Rs. 15.4 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The company has already started bookings for the bike and will commence deliveries soon. In India, the bike will lock horns with Triumph Tiger800 XCA and Honda Africa Twin.
