Britannia appoints new CEO amid FMCG executive shake-up
Britannia Industries just announced Rakshit Hargave as its new CEO and Executive Director, starting December 15, 2025.
He'll take over for Rajneet Kohli, who resigned in March 2025, with Varun Berry taking over additional responsibilities as interim CEO from May 2025.
Hargave's experience in FMCG and paints
Britannia is turning to seasoned leadership at a time when India's FMCG sector is seeing lots of executive shake-ups.
Hargave brings serious experience from leading Birla Opus paints and managing NIVEA operations across Asia and Africa.
His extensive career in the sector
He's got deep roots in the FMCG world—having held senior roles at Hindustan Unilever, Kimberly Clark Lever, Jubilant Foodworks, Tata Motors, Lakme Lever, and Nestle India.
On top of that, he's an FMS Delhi MBA grad and an IIT Varanasi engineer.
Transition details
Hargave takes the reins from Rajneet Kohli (who resigned in March), with Managing Director Varun Berry having filled in temporarily until now.
