CBI arrests KAPL MD Anurag Danayak over ₹5L bribe allegation

The CBI has arrested Anurag Danayak, the managing director of Karnataka Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Limited (KAPL), after he was allegedly caught taking a ₹5 lakh bribe from a Bhopal-based service agent.

According to the CBI, Danayak had actually asked for ₹15 lakh in total to approve the company's pending agreement and help them get more business with government hospitals in Madhya Pradesh.

CBI finds 75L cash and gold

Following his arrest, the CBI searched Danayak's homes in Bengaluru, Noida, and Jabalpur.

They found ₹75 lakh in cash, foreign currency worth ₹4 lakh, nearly 700gm of gold jewelry and coins (about ₹86 lakh), plus documents for a flat.
