Claude creator Anthropic raises $13 billion at $183B valuation

Business

Anthropic, the AI company started by former OpenAI folks, just raised a huge $13 billion in Series F funding.
Led by ICONIQ Capital with support from Fidelity and Lightspeed, this round nearly tripled Anthropic's value from $61.5 billion in March 2024 to $183 billion.

Round saw participation from several institutional investors and pension funds

This is one of 2024's biggest venture rounds, drawing big names like BlackRock, Blackstone, Coatue, Ontario Teachers's Pension Plan, and Qatar Investment Authority.
Anthropic plans to use the cash to speed up global growth and push forward on AI safety research.

Claude AI models are already powering over 300,000 businesses

Anthropic builds the Claude AI models—rivals to OpenAI's GPT—which now power over 300,000 businesses.
Their run-rate revenue jumped from $1 billion at the start of 2025 to over $5 billion by August.
Developers are also loving their coding tool Claude Code, which is already generating over $500 million in run-rate revenue.

Anthropic aims for $26 billion revenue run-rate by late-2026

With this fresh funding, Anthropic is aiming for even bigger things: global expansion, smarter AI tools, and an ambitious revenue target of $26 billion by late 2026.
