Zocalo launches CoHo dorms for DU students
Leaning into the demands of DU students to find good accommodations, CoHo.in has launched its CoHo dorms to span the gap of demand-supply for students. CoHo dorms with the rent starting from starts from Rs.10,000 come laced with AC, 24/7 high-speed internet, and wholesome meals. These are fully-furnished and fully-maintained, with a spacious common lounge area where college clubs' meetings can be held.
Zocalo was started in 2014 by Uday Lakkar as an online platform for broker-free rented home-stays in India . It provided listings for multiple renting homes and paying guests accommodations. Unlike other realty portals that are run by mostly brokers, Zocalo was a broker-free platform with rating and review system in place by genuine users for neighborhoods and PGs..
In August 2015, Zocalo.in raised an undisclosed amount in an angel round of funding. The start-up planned to utilize the funds to enhance technology and marketing exercises. The investors included Rajesh Shawney- GSF Accelerator; Sachin Bhatia, of MakeMyTrip; Mahesh Parasuraman, former managing director, the Carlyle Group; Advantedge Incubators Pvt Ltd; Dheeraj Jain, partner with a UK-based hedge fund; and Udaan Angels.
Zocalo launched its tech platform CoHo in the Delhi NCR region. CoHo.in offered managed apartments and villas to working professionals and students. The residents interact with CoHo on an app-based online concierge that lets you make rent payments, KYC and enjoy CoHo Privilege program. CoHo is expected to leverage technology to create innovative start-up homes, hacker houses, tech-driven automated houses etc.
CoHo's lounge areas include pool table, PS3, mini golf, foosball table, back massager and couches and bean bags are just an add on.
Apart from providing luxurious rental spaces, CoHo has formed some innovative strategic partnerships with other startups to cater to the assorted needs of its users. The partners include Shuttl- a mobile based AC minibus-service that makes the daily commute comfortable and economical. Another partner VanityCube delivers on-demand beauty treatments anytime. Others include ClassHop (Fitness classes), BeerCafe, FoodPanda, InnerChef, Kingdom of Dreams etc.
CoHo homes boast of several cool features, one such is the August App Lock which unlock the room using an App on your smartphone and can give entrance to people using the same.
