Dixon, Longcheer set up smartphone, AI-PC joint venture in India
Dixon Technologies and Longcheer Intelligence have converted the existing Dixtel Infocom subsidiary into a joint venture focused on making smartphones, AI-powered PCs, and more.
Dixon holds a 74% stake (investing ₹7.39 crore), while Longcheer owns 26%.
The deal was sealed on March 3, 2026.
Dixtel Infocom will focus on localizing parts for entry-level devices
Dixtel Infocom will build not just smartphones and AI PCs, but also tablets, TWS earphones, smartwatches, automotive electronics, and healthcare devices.
They'll use Longcheer's design expertise—especially for entry-level phones from brands like Vivo and OPPO—to localize parts in India.
The goal: help boost India as a global electronics hub.
Board structure and share transfer rules are in place
The joint venture is set up with Dixon picking two board members and Longcheer one.
There are clear rules for how shares can be transferred or sold, plus protections to keep things running smoothly if there are disagreements or big decisions.
Total investment stands at ₹10 crore
