What's the story

The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) has reported a massive 21.2% increase in equity mutual fund inflows for November 2025. The total inflow reached ₹29,911 crore, up from ₹24,690 crore in October. This is a strong monthly performance but a decline of about 17% compared to the same month last year when the inflow stood at ₹35,943 crore.

Flexi cap funds attract maximum investments

Among the 11 sub-categories, all but dividend yield and ELSS funds saw inflows. Flexi cap funds were the most popular, attracting an inflow of ₹8,135 crore in November. This was a slight dip of 9% from October's inflow of ₹8,928 crore. Large & midcap funds came second with an impressive growth rate of 42%, attracting a total inflow of ₹4,503 crore in November against last month's ₹3,177 crore.

Mid and small cap funds also see significant inflows

Mid and small cap funds also witnessed considerable inflows of ₹4,486 crore and ₹4,406 crore, respectively, in November. Value/contra funds recorded highest surge at 231%, attracting ₹1,219 crore against October's ₹368 crore. However, multicap funds saw a minor dip of 2% on a monthly basis.

Debt mutual funds witness significant outflows

Debt mutual funds saw a massive outflow of ₹25,692 crore in November, compared to an inflow of ₹1.59 lakh crore in October. Most sub-categories witnessed outflows during this period. Money market funds attracted the highest inflow at ₹11,104 crore in November followed by ultra-short duration funds with a total inflow of ₹8,361 crore.

Fund performance

Liquid funds and credit risk funds continue to see outflows

Liquid funds continued to witness outflows but the pressure eased significantly to ₹14,050 crore from October's ₹89,375 crore. Credit risk funds have been on a 32-month-long outflow streak. Hybrid funds saw a 6% dip in monthly inflows at ₹13,299 crore in November against October's ₹14,156 crore. All categories except conservative hybrid funds witnessed inflows during this period.

Market trends

Overall mutual fund inflows drop 85%

The overall mutual fund inflows witnessed a whopping 85% drop to ₹33,222 crore in November from October's ₹2.15 lakh crore. However, around 24 new open-ended mutual funds were launched this year, collectively raising ₹3,126 crore. Sectoral and thematic funds contributed the most with ₹1,982 crore while four such funds were launched in November alone.
