Flipkart's new 0-commission move: What's up?

Business

Flipkart just rolled out a zero-commission model for sellers on Shopsy, its hypervalue platform.
Now, if you're buying or selling stuff under ₹1,000 on Flipkart, sellers won't have to pay the usual 5-30% fee to Flipkart.
On Shopsy, this zero-commission model applies to all products, regardless of price.
The goal? Make things more affordable for shoppers and help sellers keep more of their earnings.

Supporting small businesses and keeping up with the trend

This change is mainly aimed at supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), making it easier for them to sell online.
Flipkart says it could cut seller costs by up to 30%.
It also follows similar moves by Meesho and Amazon India's Bazaar as e-commerce platforms try to reach deeper into smaller towns and give newer brands a fair shot online.
