Genesis AI secures $105 million seed funding for robotic AI models

Genesis AI, a startup launched by Zhou Xian and Theophile Gervet in December 2024, just scored $105 million in seed funding from Eclipse Ventures and Khosla Ventures.
Their big goal? To create an all-purpose AI that can handle everything from lab experiments to household chores.

TL;DR

Genesis AI's unique approach to data collection

Instead of collecting tons of real-world data (which is slow and pricey), Genesis AI built its own physics simulation engine with help from 18 universities. This lets them train their models faster and more affordably.
The team includes over 20 researchers from Silicon Valley and Paris, all passionate about robotics, machine learning, and graphics.

Competing with Physical Intelligence and Skild AI

Genesis AI is up against other robotics startups like Physical Intelligence and Skild AI.
With strong backing from Khosla Ventures, they plan to release their foundational robotics model by the end of 2025—hoping to speed up automation for industries everywhere.
