Hiring in India jumped 17% this festive season (August-October), with a big push from gig and temp jobs—up 25% over last year, says Adecco India.
Retail, e-commerce, BFSI (banking/finance), logistics, and hospitality all saw strong demand for extra hands as the pre-Dussehra rush kicked in.

Entry-level salaries rose by 12-15%

While metros like Delhi-NCR and Mumbai still made up most hires, tier II and III cities grew even faster—up to 25% more than last year.
Cities like Lucknow and Jaipur led the way.
