Second-generation Hyundai Grand i10 to launch on August 20

South Korean automaker Hyundai is all set to launch the second-generation Grand i10 in India on August 20. The upcoming hatchback will get a bunch of cosmetic and interior upgrades while retaining the mechanical specifications of its current model. In India, the second-generation Grand i10 is expected to fall under Rs. 5-8 lakh price bracket (ex-showroom). Here is our roundup.
The second-generation Grand i10 is said to get revamped design with a wider cascading grille, sharp-edged bumpers, and redesigned alloy wheels. For lighting, it is likely to house projector headlamps along with the LED DRLs and LED indicators - just like previous models. Moreover, the hatchback is expected to be more spacious than its current model.
Inside, the second-generation model is likely to get a dual tone cabin with a fresh new dashboard and a multifunctional power-steering wheel. It is expected to get a digital-analog instrument console and a new 8-inch infotainment panel with support for Bluetooth and navigation. Moreover, the infotainment system will offer new-age connectivity features such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Hyundai's Blue Link technology.
The all-new Hyundai Grand i10 will be offered in BS6 compliant 1.2-liter petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol unit which makes 83hp of power is likely to be mated with the 5-speed manual transmission as standard along with the optional AMT. On the other hand, the diesel mill is likely to get the manual gearbox only.
In India, the second-generation Hyundai Grand i10 is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 5-8 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, the hatchback will lock horns with rivals such as Ford Figo, Maruti Suzuki Swift, and the recently launched Toyota Glanza.
