India-China to discuss trade, economic concerns
India and China are getting back to the table for trade and economic talks, hoping to smooth things over after some tense years. After a meeting in New Delhi between India's foreign secretary Vikram Misri and China's vice foreign minister Sun Weidong, they agreed to work on restarting direct flights (which have been on pause since 2020) and open up more conversations about business.

India brought up worries about China's export limits on rare earths—key for making electric vehicles—and the huge $99.2 billion trade gap between them. Both countries also want to make it easier for people to visit each other, including bringing back the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra pilgrimage. These talks come just as tensions along their border in Ladakh have eased, giving both sides a chance to focus more on building better economic ties.
