India-EU FTA talks kick off in Brussels tomorrow

Business

India and the European Union are kicking off their 14th round of free trade agreement (FTA) talks in Brussels on October 6, aiming to seal the deal by December 2025.
After an eight-year pause, negotiations restarted in June 2022 and now both sides are hoping to finally reach an agreement.

What does this mean for you?

This FTA could be a game changer: the EU is already India's biggest trading partner, with $136.53 billion exchanged in the 2024-25 period.
The EU wants lower tariffs on cars, medical devices, wine and more, while India's pushing to boost exports of things like medicines and clothing.
If they sort out market access and tariff issues soon, it could potentially mean more jobs, new investments, and stronger supply chains—making it a big deal for anyone interested in global opportunities or future careers.
