India launches 4 processing parks under National Critical Mineral Mission
India is rolling out four new mineral processing parks to boost local production and cut down on imports, all under the National Critical Mineral Mission.
These parks will focus on materials needed for electric vehicles, clean energy, and electronics: think lithium, rare earths, nickel, titanium, and more.
Each state gets its own specialty: Andhra Pradesh (rare earths, titanium, zirconium), Gujarat (rare-earth magnets), Maharashtra (lithium), and Odisha (nickel).
Dahej Paradip Dighi support local processing
The parks are coming up in Dahej (Gujarat), Paradip (Odisha), near Dighi Port (Maharashtra), with Andhra Pradesh's spot still undecided.
By bringing processing and refining together in one place, the plan is to turn raw minerals into valuable products for tech industries, making India less reliant on global supply chains and more secure when it comes to essential resources.
