India just rolled out the Semicon 2.0 web application portal, making it easier for companies to apply for key parts of the country's semiconductor program.
Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared that about half of the approved units under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme are from small and medium-sized businesses.

Vaishnaw highlighted that India is moving beyond just putting electronics together; it's now making crucial parts like battery cells and copper-clad laminates right here at home.
The new Semicon 2.0 push aims to connect more dots in the electronics supply chain, cut down on imports, and give Indian tech talent more room to create and compete globally.
