India PMS sector July AUM rises to ₹44.11L/cr, clients 2.23L
India's portfolio management services (PMS) sector kept up its growth streak in July 2026, with assets under management rising 2% to ₹44.11 lakh crore and client numbers up by 1.3% to 2.23 lakh accounts.
Compared to last year, both assets and clients jumped by 11%, showing the industry is gaining steady momentum.
July adds 1,407 PMS distributors
July saw the highest number of PMS distributors in FY27 so far, 1,407 new PMS distributors joining in, most of them individuals, and net inflows soared to ₹4.66 lakh crore from June's ₹3.55 lakh crore.
Discretionary services led the way, making up 84.7% of total AUM and 95.5% of the client base.
Most investors are still based in India (91% of clients), with plain debt being the most popular asset class at 83%.
Co-investment options grew fastest this month, but overall it's clear that more people are trusting professionals to manage their money this year.
