India just broke its own record for foreign exchange reserves, hitting $785.71 billion as of September 4, 2026.
That's a jump of $44.90 billion in a single week, with most of the boost coming from a surge in foreign currency assets.

Foreign currency assets (FCA) led the charge, growing by $47.498 billion and pushing total FCA to $648.17 billion, up $95.886 billion since March.
Gold reserves dipped slightly but are still higher than last year, while India's IMF Special Drawing Rights and reserve position saw minor changes.
Overall, India's reserves have grown by $94.599 billion since March, showing strong financial momentum.
