Smartphone shipments in India dropped by 23% in the third quarter of 2026, with only 35.9 million units shipped, amid a global slowdown.
Memory shortages and pricier components were blamed for India's decline, while the whole world saw about a 20% dip in this quarter.
Samsung and Nothing grow, Vivo declines
While most brands struggled, Samsung and Nothing actually grew their shipments by 8% and a whopping 30%.
Meanwhile, Vivo faced major drops due to supply issues: Vivo's numbers fell by 39%.
Looking ahead, analysts expect even fewer phones will ship in the next quarter as rising prices keep buyers away, with challenges likely sticking around into next year.
